Based on the 1850 census. the first map of Lower Merion, Pennsylvania, surveyed and drafted in 1851 by John Howell Levering. Printed by L. Sinclair's Lithographs of Philadelphia in color.

The map is drawn with the Schuylkill River at the bottom of the map, which is the reverse of virtually all subsequent maps. The top of the map is oriented to the Southwest, and the bottom to the Northeast.
