Annual Meeting and Open House

April 18, 2010

 

Call to Order: Jerry Francis called the meeting to order at 1:00pm, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Opening Remarks by Jerry Francis:

We are a volunteer organization and value the many volunteers who have made The Lower Merion Historical Society such a success. To name a few of the regulars who come by every week are: Farilyn Leopold, Bob McCormick, Ann Bagley, Ted Goldsborough, Max Buten, Phil Eidelson, and mostly recently Jim Mueller.

 

Election of Directors:

Ted Goldsborough, Chairman of the Nominating Committee, presented the following slate for consideration by the membership. Elections were held and the following Directors were elected.

 

Director, Class of 2013 for a three-year term -

á      Sarah Bonnice

á      Max Buten

á      Leon Levine

 

The following reports were deferred to the June 18, 2009 Executive Board Meeting:

á      Presentation of "2008 Financial Review Report"

á      Review of "2009 Statement of Financial Position"

á      Approval of "2009 Budget"

 

Report on the Cynwyd Train Station and the Cynwyd Heritage Trail:

Jerry presented a PowerPoint slide presentation showing the ÒPast Present FutureÓ of the station and the trail. There was further discussion concerning our Capital Campaign.

 

The Executive Board Meeting adjourned at 2:00pm and the public was invited for a tour of the Lower Merion Academy and a site visit to the Cynwyd Train Station.
